The successful candidate is responsible for the oversight and coordination of all undergraduate nursing clinical experiences and serves as the primary liaison with healthcare partners to cultivate and sustain high-quality academicpractice partnerships. As an Assistant/Associate Professor of Practice and Clinical Coordinator the individual provides direct instruction in undergraduate clinical courses mentors/advises students secures and maintains clinical placement sites and supports continuous quality improvement of clinical education in alignment with program outcomes accreditation standards and regulatory requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited institution.
- Current unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license (or eligibility for licensure) in the State of Texas.
- Minimum of 35 years of recent clinical nursing experience in an acute care or relevant healthcare setting.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in nursing education clinical instruction or precepting.
- Demonstrated knowledge of undergraduate clinical education student evaluation and professional nursing standards.
- Demonstrated ability to align clinical teaching and evaluation with AACN Essentials (2021) and the Texas Differentiated Essential Competencies (DECs) for nursing education.
- Strong communication collaboration and relationship-building skills with healthcare partners faculty students and administrators.
- Ability to manage multiple clinical sites schedules and competing priorities effectively.
- Commitment to student-centered teaching professional identity formation and ethical nursing practice.
- Ability to work onsite in support of clinical coordination teaching and partnership development.

- Provide oversight and coordination of all undergraduate nursing clinical experiences.
- Serve as the primary liaison between the BSN program and healthcare partners; cultivate and sustain high-quality academicpractice relationships.
- Identify secure and maintain appropriate clinical placement sites for all undergraduate nursing students.
- Communicate regularly with clinical agencies regarding student expectations program requirements and performance feedback.
- Collaborate with clinical agencies to address site capacity student preparedness and clinical quality.
Clinical Scheduling & Operations
- Develop coordinate and manage clinical placement schedules across all undergraduate nursing courses.
- Assign students to clinical sites and preceptors in collaboration with course faculty and clinical partners.
- Monitor clinical site utilization and adjust placements as needed to ensure equitable high-quality learning experiences.
- Maintain accurate records of clinical placements clinical hours site capacity and preceptor assignments.
Compliance Accreditation and Quality Assurance
- Ensure all clinical experiences align with program outcomes AACN Essentials (2021) and Texas Differentiated Essential Competencies (DECs).
- Monitor and document compliance with Texas Board of Nursing regulations institutional policies and clinical agency requirements.
- Maintain required documentation related to clinical placements student credentials and site agreements in collaboration with university offices.
- Participate in accreditation activities program assessment and continuous quality improvement related to clinical education.
Clinical Compliance Validation (Students Faculty and Clinical Personnel)
- Validate and monitor all required clinical compliance documentation for students faculty clinical supervisors and clinical assistants including but not limited to licensure health requirements background checks training certifications and agency-specific credentials.
- Ensure all individuals participating in clinical education meet institutional clinical agency and Texas Board of Nursing requirements prior to clinical placement.
- Maintain accurate up-to-date records of clinical compliance and collaborate with university offices and clinical agencies to resolve deficiencies.
- Communicate compliance expectations timelines and deadlines clearly to students faculty and clinical partners.
Clinical Supervisor & Clinical Assistant Onboarding and Training
- Plan coordinate and implement orientation and onboarding for clinical supervisors and clinical assistants prior to each academic year and as new personnel are engaged.
- Develop and deliver structured clinical training for clinical supervisors and clinical assistants each semester (fall spring and summer) to ensure consistency quality and compliance in clinical instruction.
- Provide ongoing support resources and guidance to clinical supervisors and clinical assistants throughout the academic year.
Teaching Mentoring and Student Evaluation
- Teach undergraduate clinical courses as an Assistant/Associate Professor of Practice carrying the equivalent of a 15/15 (fall/spring) teaching workload.
- Mentor students in clinical reasoning professional identity formation ethical practice and professional comportment.
- Evaluate student performance in clinical settings using established program criteria and rubrics.
- Provide timely constructive feedback and collaborate with faculty on remediation plans when needed.
Collaboration & Program Alignment
- Collaborate closely with course faculty program leadership and simulation faculty/staff to ensure alignment among didactic simulation and clinical learning experiences.
- Participate in curriculum development course review and program evaluation related to clinical education.
- Work with simulation staff to integrate simulation with clinical learning where appropriate.
Service Professional Engagement and Leadership
- Represent the BSN program in internal and external meetings related to clinical education and workforce partnerships.
- Stay current with trends in nursing education clinical practice and regulatory changes affecting clinical placements.
- Provide service to the program school and university as assigned and strategically aligned with program priorities.
- Participate in scholarly or professional activities appropriate to a Professor of Practice role.
Other Duties
- Perform all other duties as assigned by the Assistant Director of Nursing and/or Dean.
