Job Summary
We are currently recruiting for a part time Doorperson/Porterto join our award winning Concierge teamat the Sheraton Grand Hotel & Spa to work 20 hours per week.
Sheraton Grand Hotel & Spa is one of Scotlands leading 5 star hotels. As the largest 5 star hotel we also have the biggest banqueting and meeting facilities of any hotel in Edinburgh with a capacity of up to 500 along with our One Square Restaurant and bar.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for delivering great service in a professional manner and be able to work well under pressure.
This key team member is responsible for:
- Welcome guests and direct them to Reception
- To load and unload luggage from vehicles
- Open transport doors and greet guests
- Protect guests at either entrance from inclement weather
- Obtain taxis for guests or liaise with chauffeurs
- Conduct customers to the Garage
- To ensure Security of guest luggage left in your care and to safely store it and give guest a receipt
- Know regular guest names and requirements
- Accurate knowledge of hotel facilities and services
- Be aware of daily functions events VIP and group arrivals
- To carry out any other duties as required
Requirements:
- Great Customer Service Skills - Must enjoy guest interaction be able to anticipate guest needs and maintain a positive and professional attitude at all times.
- We are looking for a proactive person who speak fluent in English with a drivers license who is able to stand a minimum of 8hrs a day while maintaining a smile and positive attitude and is able to lift heavy luggage
- Must be a Team Player Demonstrate experience of building positive working relationships and promoting team spirit.
- Essential Computer Skills - Knowledge of Opera is preferred Microsoft Word and Excel is essential.
- Valid UK Driving Licence
- Flexible with shifts and weekend work required.
