Portfolio Execution Group (PEG)

Portfolio Execution Group encompasses multiple teams that perform a range of functional roles including trade execution funding & liquidity management securities financing and applied quantitative research. This group comprises three sub-teams Global Trading Unit (GTU) Balance Sheet Management Group (BMG) and Applied Research Unit (ARU).

Global Trading Unit (GTU)

The Global Trading Unit (GTU) is responsible for the implementation of GICs investment decisions across the entire public markets. GTU is one global team with desks in London New York and Singapore and executes trades in equities fixed income currencies and commodities. GTUs main goals are to provide best execution to all of GICs portfolio managers and to harvest & deliver differentiated market intelligence that is additive to the investment process. We are continually striving to be world-class in terms of our talent technology platforms and external relationships.

We are looking for a candidate with a good understanding of financial instruments and markets as well as strong analytical and programming skills; to join the GTU team in London as a Trader that focuses ontrading in liquid markets across multiple asset classes.

What impact can you make in this role

You will be part of a team that seeks to deliver top-tier trade execution to efficiently manage total portfolio liquidity and to improve asset utilisation for GIC.

What will you do as a trader

• Partner closely with GICs portfolio managers across the globe to solution for and execute trades during the London timezone across FX equities rates commodities and futures.

• Harvest and deliver differentiated market intelligence on macro themes to GICs portfolio managers and senior management.

• Work closely with colleagues from the Applied Research Unit (ARU) and Technology Group (TG) to (A) gain insights from GTUs trading data in order to continuously sharpen execution and (B) further improve upon GTUs trading technology suite in areas such as automated trading pre- and post-trade checks and market surveillance.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with GICs counterparties and liquidity providers using strong interpersonal and communication skills.

What qualifications or skills should you possess in this role

• Relevantyears of trading experience - exposure to electronic trading would be advantageous.

• Clear and effective verbal and written communications with strong negotiation skills.

• Enjoy problem-solving and has strong attention to detail.

• Affinity to take intra-day and inter-day market timing risks in order to deliver strong execution outcomes.

• Ability to program in Python and passion for gaining insights from data would be a plus.
