PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
This role will lead and manage the Universitys international recruitment function with an immediate focus on the recruitment conversion and enrolment of international students across undergraduate and graduate programs.
In support of these aims the incumbent works international recruitment staff in-country recruiters (both third-party and directly contracted) authorized educational agents and central marketing and communications teams.
The incumbent is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the Universitys international recruitment ecosystem including agent network third-party and directly contracted in-country recruiters international recruitment marketing and communications pathway programs and market-specific recruitment planning and performance management.
The incumbent is responsible for developing and executing data-informed international recruitment strategies and activities to achieve international student recruitment targets monitoring recruitment performance by market and channel and ensuring a strong coordinated and effective alignment with the Universitys Admissions and Registrars Office processes to support applicant conversion and enrolment.
The role provides direct leadership direction and accountability for international recruitment outcomes ensuring that recruitment initiatives are aligned with institutional enrolment targets brand positioning and compliance requirements
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
A relevant honours degree in a related field and 5 years experience directly related to the duties of the position
Comprehensive knowledge of the competitive international Higher Education market including successful experience and working knowledge in one or more specific international recruitment markets (i.e. China South Asia MENA region etc.) and the needs and expectations of international students
Previous experience in a supervisory capacity preferably within a unionized environment
Demonstrated track record of growing successfully growing and managing international student enrolments across multiple markets
Demonstrated experience with international recruitment marketing digital lead generation and market-specific communications strategies
Demonstrated experience in outcomes-focused business planning forecasting and project management related to international recruitment activities
Demonstrated ability to prioritize multitask and work in a team environment and independently and within cross-functional recruitment teams.
Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with a wide range of audiences including prospective students agents recruitment partners academic and non-academic staff and external stakeholders
Demonstrated ability to investigate recruitment challenges identify root causes and implement corrective actions to improve recruitment performance and applicant conversion
Experience making decisions using qualitative and quantitative information and data (i.e. market research recruitment analytics and enrolment data)
Experience drafting and analyzing reports briefing materials and presentations related to international recruitment performance for a broad range of audiences including senior management
Demonstrated ability to lead delegate and manage the performance of international recruitment staff agents and external service provide to deliver measurable results
Demonstrated ability to work across functional areas to strengthen recruitment processes and applicant experience
Demonstrated ability to seek ways to improve and refine recruitment services including experience addressing issues raised by prospective students agents and partners.
Demonstrated experience working as a team member across broad networks including with people from diverse cultural contexts and global recruitment networks
Experience negotiating managing and evaluating contracts and agreements with education agents and third-party recruitment service providers
Experience utilizing a CRM platform to actively manage engage track and report with prospective international students throughout the recruitment funnel
Competency with commonly used internet communication and related computer applications including Microsoft Word PowerPoint and Excel
Eligibility to travel freely to and from Canada to meet the requirements of the role including the ability to stay away from home overnight or for several nights at a time
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Fluency in one or more additional languages: Mandarin Portuguese Spanish or Arabic (not in any order of importance)
