Key Responsibilities
- Instruction & Planning:Develop lesson plans based on TEKS (Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills) for LOTE (Languages Other Than English). Teach grammar vocabulary and composition to develop student proficiency.
- Classroom Management:Maintain a safe positive and productive learning environment.
- Assessment & Evaluation:Monitor student progress through tests projects and oral assessments.
- Cultural Integration:Foster an appreciation of Spanish-speaking cultures traditions and history.
- Collaboration:Participate in faculty meetings professional development and if required support extracurricular activities like language clubs.
- Communication:Provide feedback to students and parents regarding performance.
Qualifications
- Certification:Valid Texas teaching certificate for Secondary Spanish (typically Grades 6-12 or 7-12).
- Education:Bachelors degree in Spanish Education or a related field.
- Proficiency:Proven verbal and written proficiency in the Spanish language.
- Experience:Previous experience teaching high school Spanish preferred.
