Job Description:
What We Are Looking For
Baylor University is seeking multiple Full-Time TIP Teaching Assistants and Full-Time Lead TIP Teaching Assistant to support the mission and vision of Baylor University and serve within the School of Educations TIP Program. Baylor TIP Residential Summer Program Teaching Assistants (TAs) provide supervision and mentoring to the students who qualify for and participate in summer residential programs offered through The Center for Gifted Education and Talent Development. TAs are responsible for supporting students during the academic day. They report to an assigned instructor and assist in teaching a course that is appropriately rigorous and challenging for high ability students. They also supervise students during class breaks and lunch and may lead a one-hour evening study session with the students in their class.
An Advanced Undergrad (120 credit hours) OR 2 years of Undergrad coursework and zero years of experience are required. Relevant professional experience may substitute for some credit hours.
Baylor reserves the right to hire candidates into either TIP Teaching Assistant or Lead TIP Teaching Assistant as we see fit.

MinimumRequired Education and Skills
- Content expertisein the area of instruction (e.g. mathematics engineering etc.)
- Ability to communicate effectivelyand positivelywith students families and other staff
- Strong organizational skills
PreferredEducation and Skills
- Experience in a leadership position
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to effectively problem-solve
- Experience working with adolescents or young adults
JobResponsibilities
- Complete all required trainingsandjob-specificassignmentsprior to working with students
- Assist instructor in planning and implementing high-quality lessons
- Arrive at BaylorWednesdayprior to the start of the class for on-site trainings andset-up
- Attend all required staff meetings
- Create a funand welcoming environment for all students
- Encourage students to positively engage with all activities staff and other students
- Actively supervise studentsduring assigned timesto ensure their safety and well-being
- Adhere to and enforce all safety and risk management policies
- Collaborate withtheleadership teamandotheronsite staffmembersto resolveanystudentdisciplinaryissues or concernsinan appropriate manner that aligns with the Centers mission and policies
- Maintainpositive relationships with students parents and staff
- Assist with the logistical running ofthe program helping with administrative and operational duties as assigned
- Complete all tasksrequired foreffectivelyclosing thesession (submitting evaluations returning supplies that belong to Baylorreporting any property damage that occurredduring theprogrametc.)
- Assistwith transportation and care of students with medical needsthat require a visitto theon-site medical clinic or tothedorms for needed rest.
- Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylors mission
- Ability to comply with university policies
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance
