MPL Operations Supervisor- Vernon IL

POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for leading operations team of 10technicians in the Patoka Area. Supportbusinessunit team of 20total employees including 9 skilled trade technicians and one administrative assistant. This position belongs to a family of jobs with increasing responsibilitycompetencyand skill level.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensures the safe reliable and efficient operation maintenance and construction of multiple pipelines and facilities across a geographical area.

  • Manages the day-to-day field activities of company technicians and pipeline systems across a geographical area to ensure safe and efficient storage or movement of crude oil and light petroleum products.

  • Supports MPL 5 Region and Area Goals. Demonstratesabilityto collaborate with diverse groups including corporate SMEs engineers contractors landowners community stakeholders and farmers.

  • Champions sound operational practices including adherence to site and corporate operational policies and effective procedure management and use while ensuring compliance with Federal State and local regulations.

  • Identifies trends and resolves operational incidents including updating of procedures/standards/processes.

  • Partners with stakeholders to ensure successful implementation of production plans and projects through planning communication and management of resources.

  • Optimizes downtime for inspection maintenance or project activities. Maintains proactive professional and effective relationships with key stakeholders.

  • Facilitates Emergency Response efforts drills and training as required. Partners to ensure emergency response inventory is maintained and equipment and materials are ready in the event of an emergency. Assists in coordinating local public education efforts.

  • Establishes and communicates clear expectations for organizational behavior and manages performance of team members through coaching mentoring annual reviews and constructive feedback.

  • Assists with and executes the financial budget for assigned area.

  • Monitors company time keeping systems to ensure accuracy and overtime hours are reasonable compared against work orders closed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelors degree preferred.

  • Three (3) years oil and gas industry experience required; midstream preferred.

  • Successfulapplicantmust live within 45 minutes of the Patoka office.

  • A valid Drivers license is required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Leadership experience.

  • Proficient in computer skills and experience in MS Office SAP Workforce INTELEXWorkDay eDocs UTILISPHERE and Prometheus.

  • Ability to interpret and prioritize data for troubleshooting or continuous improvement.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and individuals.
