Job Summary
Were looking for a Senior DevOps Streaming Engineer to join us.
Im Mikael Malmborg Head of Video Streaming and Im searching for someone ready to grow with us. Were a highly engaged team of experts within our domain focused on building securing and scaling the streaming platform that delivers the award winning worldclass Live and VOD Telia Play service to our Nordic customers.
Within Video Streaming our mission is simple but ambitious:
We make everything behind the play button work when it comes to streaming - reliably securely and at scale.
In Streaming Infrastructure we operate the backbone of that mission: the ingest processing packaging delivery observability and automation that ensure our customers always get a smooth highquality TV and streaming experience.
What youll do:
As a Senior DevOps Streaming Engineer you will together with the team own and evolve our streaming media pipelines platforms and tooling that power the Telia Play streaming service across the Nordics.
Develop and operate highavailability automated streaming infrastructure across Live VOD and timeshifted services.
Create scalable DevOps workflows observability capabilities and tools that ensure reliability security and operational excellence endtoend.
Consult and collaborate with Product Backend Player Network and Security teams to drive technical strategy best practices and longterm architectural direction.
Lead improvements within Dynamic Ad Insertion (DAI) DRM acquisition encoding streaming anti-piracy cloud scalability CDN performance and distributed systems reliability.
What will help you thrive in this role:
Youll thrive here if you enjoy solving largescale technical challenges driving architectural clarity and elevating engineering practices across team boundaries.
Proven experience in streaming technologies distributed systems hardware OS and cloudnative DevOps engineering (10 years).
Strong knowledge of AWS media services DevOps toolchains Dynamic Ad Insertion DRM systems (Widevine PlayReady FairPlay) streaming protocols (HLS DASH) and modern observability.
Ability to balance strategic thinking with handson problemsolving especially in hightraffic eventdriven environments.
Fluency in English and comfort presenting complex technology clearly to both technical and nontechnical audiences.
Important Information:
The role includes participating in an oncall rotation approximately every 6-8 weeks.
