The Opportunity

The Project Manager Healthcare Infrastructure is a key member of the Build NS Healthcare
Infrastructure Team. The Project Manager will be responsible for delivering Central Zone healthcare infrastructure projects across the full project lifecycle-from planning and design through construction commissioning and transition to operations.

This role supports major redevelopment initiatives associated with the Acute Care Tower. This will include independent campus-wide IMIT Integrated Clinical and Information Communications and Automation Technology (ICAT) integration projects. The Project Manager will ensure alignment between infrastructure delivery clinical planning digital systems and operational readiness.

What youll do

Responsibilities

Manage and coordinate the development of technical project requirements.

Manage the the planning design technical development commissioning and transition to operations of complex healthcare infrastructure projects and clinical environments delivered through Public-Private Partnerships (P3s) and other construction models.

Provide integration-focused project management across multiple workstreams ensuring alignment between infrastructure delivery clinical planning objectives digital/IMIT requirements and operational readiness.

Develop monitor and control project scope schedules budgets resource plans risks and mitigation strategies to ensure delivery against project objectives.

Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders including clinicians support services consultants contractors and government partners-to proactively identify and mitigate risks and resolve complex issues to ensure project objectives are achieved.

Coordinate and oversee the development and integration of technical project requirements
ensuring compliance with provincial standards project specifications and clinical planning outcomes.

Oversee coordination of consultants contractors and other partners in alignment with publicsector
policies and value-for-money objectives.

Ensure design submissions construction activities and contractor deliverables are reviewed coordinated and aligned with approved project requirements through structured governance reporting site engagement and stakeholder forums.

Support adjacent workstreams such as Clinical Equipment planning into overall project specifications and schedules including participation in functional planning drawing reviews specification development cost estimation commissioning activities and coordination with clinical and technical stakeholders.

Supervise and mentor project managers engineers and project officers as assigned and contribute to effective management of human and financial resources including performance
management DE&I principles and a healthy respectful workplace.

Continuously demonstrate leadership competencies and actively support organizational policies procedures and values.

What youll need

Qualifications

A university degree in Engineering Architecture Commerce Nursing Health Administration or another relevant discipline combined with 5-8 years of progressive project management experience in large complex infrastructure environments. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered; Masters degree considered an asset

Demonstrated experience in healthcare infrastructure projects is a significant asset including exposure to clinical environments operational readiness or integration with care delivery.

Strong business acumen with experience managing project budgets schedules technical requirements and contract administration including financial and legal considerations.

Experience with P3 delivery models (e.g. Build-Finance Design-Build-Finance Design-Build-Finance-Maintain) and working in an owners representative or oversight role is strongly
preferred.

Proven stakeholder management skills with the ability to find positive pragmatic solutions to complex issues involving clinicians consultants contractors and diverse project partners.

Strong communication presentation negotiation influencing and consensus-building skills.

Experience negotiating claims scope changes and other contractual or compliance-related matters is an asset.

Professional Engineer () designation or eligibility to obtain is a significant asset.

Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is an asset.

Clinical or health-system experience (including nursing or allied health backgrounds) is considered an asset where combined with demonstrated project management capability.

Previous experience leading a team is highly desired.

Pay Grade: 14

Salary Range: $3778.95 - $4723.68 Bi-Weekly

Salary Placement: The placement of a new hire into the salary range is based on an objective salary rating process. This process will assess the knowledge skills experiences and overall qualifications of a candidate to determine appropriate placement. Each pay grade has established steps and new hires cannot exceed certain maximums which are outlined in the Compensation Framework.
