Global Engineering Services (GES) Operations Engineering (Ops Eng) is searching for an innovative and solutions-oriented engineering project leader to lead initiative of developing and delivering next generation world-class sortation and transportation systems. This position will have an impact on both design and process design engineering for GES.

Were looking to add a high-impact engineer to our this role you will collaborate with internal and external teams to design high-quality cost-effective solutions for our sortation and distribution systems. Your projects may include green-fields brown-fields and retrofits including highly automated fulfillment centers cross-dock facilities and transportation centers. Your projects will be a variety of template-based and designed-from-scratch along with ownership of Process Designs end to end complimenting each Design.
You will work with a team of highly skilled and highly engaged engineers in a fast-paced and often ambiguous environment. Our team works on hundreds of projects each year. You will be challenged; you will learn; you will work on high impact high visibility projects; you will grow.
This role requires 25% regional travel and availability to work from one of the locations listed when not traveling. Candidates should either live near or be willing to relocate within a reasonable commuting distance of the office. Relocation assistance may be provided.
Key job responsibilities
- Coordinate design and innovation efforts to develop optimal solutions for the sortation and transportation network through equipment specification material flow process design site layout and intellectual property considerations.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to generate high-quality cost-effective solutions in very short periods of time.
- Simultaneously manage multiple projects and tasks while effectively influencing negotiating and communicating with internal and external business partners contractors and vendors.
- Effective communication skills ability to execute the vision detailed roadmap and specific technical solutions to make a compelling business case with senior executives.

About the team
Firm Engineering owns mechanical firm design for First Mile retrofits Middle Mile POR and Retrofits designs. The pillar also provides electrical controls and software integration support across all First and Middle Mile building types.
- Bachelors degree or above in Operations Business Project Management or Engineering
- Experience with complex automated material handling equipment packaging technologies and systems and high-speed manufacturing
- Experience with process design based on Lean Principles
- Experience with project management
- Experience with concepts such as system architecture optimization system dynamics system analysis statistical analysis reliability analysis and decision making
- Experience using business or technical software like MS Excel MS Project and CAD software
- Masters degree in engineering or equivalent
- 3 years of technical engineering experience

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience qualifications and location.
