Those in cloud operations at PwC will focus on managing and optimising cloud infrastructure and services to enable seamless operations and high availability for clients. You will be responsible for monitoring troubleshooting and implementing industry leading practices for cloud-based systems.

Senior AWS Cloud Operations Engineer
The AWS Administrator is a senior technical role responsible for stability optimization security and continuous improvement of AWS environments. The role provides deep technical expertise escalation support and design-level guidance across cloud operations automation governance and cost optimization while mentoring L2/L1 resources.
Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end operational health of AWS environments including EC2 VPC ALB/ELB Auto Scaling S3 RDS IAM CloudWatch Route 53
- Lead troubleshooting of complex high-severity incidents and perform root cause analysis
- Ensure availability scalability performance and resilience of cloud workloads
- Act as the technical escalation point (L3) for AWS-related issues
- Design and enforce IAM strategies least-privilege access and role-based controls
- Support security monitoring vulnerability remediation and audit readiness
- Ensure AWS environments align with enterprise security and compliance standards
- Review and approve security-related changes and architecture decisions
- Drive cloud cost optimization initiatives using AWS Cost Explorer Budgets and tagging strategies
- Identify and implement rightsizing reservation and lifecycle optimization opportunities
- Support governance frameworks including landing zone standards guardrails and policy enforcement
- Design and implement automation solutions using scripting and Infrastructure as Code
- (CloudFormation / Terraform intermediate to advanced)
- Improve operational efficiency through self-healing auto-scaling and monitoring automation
- Architect and maintain backup and disaster recovery strategies
- Lead DR testing validation and failover readiness
- Ensure compliance with defined RTO/RPO objectives
- Collaborate with DevOps and application teams to improve platform reliability
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related technology field preferred
- Deep hands-on experience with AWS core services
- Strong understanding of AWS networking and security architecture
- Experience with monitoring logging and alerting frameworks
- Strong Linux and/or Windows administration skills
