Job Summary:

The 2nd 4th Grade Ultimate Coach is responsible for leading practices and coaching Ultimate during the season. This role supports the athletic and personal development of student-athletes by promoting teamwork skill-building and sportsmanship in a positive and inclusive environment. The position collaborates closely with the Athletics and After-School department to align with school values and ensure a safe engaging experience for all participants.

Specific Responsibilities:

• Plans and leads all Ultimate practices for second through fourth grade teaching age-appropriate Ultimate fundamentals techniques and strategies.
• Promotes sportsmanship teamwork and individual skill development and supports player growth aligned with program expectations and core competencies.
• Ensures the safety supervision and well-being of all student-athletes.
• Communicates clearly with players families and the school community about schedules expectations and team progress.
• Partners with the Director of Athletics and After-School Programs to support program goals and team culture.
• Manages equipment as well as oversees set up and cleanup for practices.
• Upholds and models the mission values and strategic priorities of STS.
• Demonstrates respect for diverse perspectives and a commitment to equity and inclusion.
• Maintains confidentiality and handles sensitive information with discretion.
• Adheres to school policies and procedures and performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics and After-School Programs.

Requirements and Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; coursework in education coaching or a related field preferred.
• 1 years of experience coaching Ultimate or equivalent playing experience preferably with elementaryage students.
• Knowledge of youth athletic development including age-appropriate skill building and sportsmanship.
• Demonstrated ability to create a positive inclusive and supportive team environment.
• Ability to actively supervise student-athletes both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Physical ability to meet the demands of the role including lifting up to 50 pounds and engaging in activities such as bending crouching or sitting on the ground.
• Readiness to obtain First Aid and CPR certification and maintain throughout employment
• Successful completion of required background checks in accordance with school policy and state regulations.
• Demonstrated cultural competency and ability to work with diverse individuals and groups.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a collaborative flexible and growth-oriented mindset.
• Proficiency with basic technology tools and a willingness to learn school-specific systems.
• Commitment to the mission values and community of STS.
