Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Respiratory Therapist you will provide essential direct patient care assessing treating and managing patients with respiratory disorders. Your role is vital for improving patient outcomes.
Every day you will assess respiratory status implement treatment plans (oxygen ventilation airway management) and educate patients/families. Youll document interventions and collaborate with physicians and medical staff.
To be successful you will demonstrate strong clinical skills critical thinking and equipment proficiency. Excellent communication for patient interaction and interdisciplinary collaboration plus a commitment to safety and continuous development are essential.
- Attends 80% of staff development meetings on a yearly basis. Measurement: Observation Minutes of meetings.
- Actively participates in department committees task forces. Measurement: Observation Minutes of meetings.
- Completes all mandatory competency checklists and certifications including: a) Mechanical Ventilation b) Neonatal intubation (as directed) c) Neonatal transports d) Neonatal resuscitation. Measurement: Observation Inservice/training Documentation.
- Assumes responsibility and accountability for pursuing continued training/education in response to personal assessment and ever changing medical technology and treatment. Measurement: Observation.
- Evaluates own performance and seeks validation resulting in positive change. Provides feedback to peers in a formal and informal review process as a team member expectation. Measurement: Observation Departmental monitors.
- Assists in review and revision of policies procedures and competencies. Measurement: Observation Departmental monitors.
Job Requirements
Required
- 3 years experience years experience in respiratorytherapy and
- 2 years experience incritical care and ventilator management
- Respiratory Care Practitioner: CA
- Basic Life Support - CPR
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program
Preferred
- Basic Life Support Instructor
- Certified EKG Tech
