Global Roving Emergency Education Specialist

What we are looking for

Experiencewithineducationin a humanitarian/recovery context with technical expertise in development and implementation of strategies and policy guidance as well as development of tools.

First-Line Education expertise with start-upscale-upor medium to large scale emergencies and experience from working in complex and volatileinternational contexts.

Fluency in Englishand French or Spanish both written and verbal.

What you will do

The purpose of the Global RovingEmergencyEducation Specialistposition is technical development ofEducation strategicdirectionand quality assurance. The position is responsible for developing Educationstrategy and quality controlat country level. This includes mentoringtrainingand capacity buildingstaff to build their technical expertise in Education programming.

The main purpose of theGlobal RovingEmergencyEducation Specialistposition is but not limited to:

1. Support country officestart-up.

2. Support first phaseeducationresponse in existing countryoffices.

3. Gap fillingif a critical gap exists.

4. Providing in-country support with the design reachingresults andcapacitydevelopment components of education programming.

TheGlobal RovingEmergencyEducation Specialistwill undertake short-term deployments up to 6 months to different NRC country deployments will be to crisis and postholder mayalso fill the role asEducation Programme Development Manager (Education PDM)at country office level.

Key responsibilities:

• Develop education strategytechnicalguidanceand Macrologframesthat are aligned withNRCsGlobal Education Strategyregional strategy andpriorities.
• Contribute to fundraising develop and revise funding proposalbudgetsand donorreports. Identifytrendstechnicalstandardsand donorpriorities.
• Provide technical direction and project up on compliance with contractual commitments withineducation ensure high technical quality and synergies in projectimplementation.
• Contribute toMonitoring and Evaluation (M&E) using M&E data to adapt programming whereneededensure that key learnings are extracted fromeducationimplementation and incorporate them ineducationand staff developmentprocesses.
• Work jointly with other Core Competencies (including Information Counselling and Legal Assistance; Shelter WASH to address barriers to education and ensure high quality safeand inclusiveservices.
• Contribute to the institutionalization of cash-based interventions and market-based programmes though capacity building guidance and SOP development and interdepartmental engagement.
• Provide systematic training and build capacity of technical staff on identified technical areas in Education programming including approaches including cash-based interventions and market-basedprogramme.
• Compliance and adherence to NRC policies guidance and procedures a specific responsibility for the functions policies and procedures.
• Line management responsibilities when deployed as Education PDM including performance management workforce planning duty of care and development of staff.
• Represent NRC in relevant forums/clusters including with national authorities anddonors.
• Promote the rights of IDPs/returnees in line with the advocacystrategy

What you will bring

• Minimum4years of experiencewithineducationin a humanitarian/recovery context.

• Education technical expertise with experience in development and implementation of policy/strategic guidance and practical tools andresources.

• Experience from working in complex and volatilecontexts(international) with First-Line EducationResponseexpertise.

• Experience with start-upscale-upor medium to large scale emergencies.

• Fluency in Englishand French or Spanish both written and verbal.

• Adaptability resilience with great interpersonal skills.
