Summary:

Qualify potential donors and develop relationships between Cook Childrens and prospects for philanthropic gifts of $25000 or more; cultivate and solicit friends grateful patient families and organizations for significant gifts to fund identified campaign and/or health care system priorities. Supervise Development staff manage program budget and provide leadership and direction for gift cultivation and solicitation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree required.

  • 8-10 years of experience required in high level fund raising marketing or related field in order to acquire skills necessary to administer coordinate and/or participate in major gifts fund raising activities and proposal development OR an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.

  • **May consider direct fundraising experience of 20 plus years in lieu of a degree.**

  • The position requires strong writing and editing skills with the ability to articulate accurately and persuasively the themes and issues associated with a pediatric medical center and health care system.

  • The individual must be able to collaborate effectively with colleagues inside and outside the Foundation.

  • Familiarity with the local community is strongly preferred.

  • A high level of analytical ability and a multi-tasked manner of thinking are required.

  • The successful candidate must be self-motivated and directed possessing excellent administrative skills high motivation and a proven ability to produce results in a highly deadline-oriented environment.

  • Other required attributes include independence reliability accuracy and expedience in addressing duties as well as the ability to handle pressure to meet deadlines and to do so with a minimum of supervision or instruction.

  • A strong team orientation toward both internal and external constituencies is required.

  • The successful candidate must be independent accurate reliable and a fast worker.

  • Ability to learn new software is necessary.
