The Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner practices occupational medicine on teams with physicians nurse practitioners physician assistants psychologists physical therapists registered dietician and other healthcare workers. This position examines assesses and treats employees. As a Pantex Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner you may provide clinical evaluation and urgent care assessment treatment and/or recommendations and referral for occupational and non-occupational medical conditions; determine fitness for duty functional capacity and medical restrictions for employees in relation to job demands and provide assessment and consultation on accommodation and placement issues; perform health surveillance examinations determine medical qualification for the occupational health examination program; and provide consultation on health-related issues and policies. Limited call will be required.
When Assigned as a Physician Assistant
Be certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) and be State Licensed in accordance with the Texas Administrative Code (TAC) requirements by the Texas Physician Assistant Board and Texas Medical Board.
Perform duties in accordance Pantex Occupational Medicine protocols within the licensed Scope of Practice.
When Assigned as a Nurse Practitioner
Perform all nurse practitioner (NP) clinical and administrative tasks within the limits of the individuals State licensure and Pantex Occupational Medicine protocols in accordance with TAC 301.152 and TAC 157.051 through 157.060.
Minimum Job Requirements
- Bachelors degree and 4 years of relevant experience.
- Masters degree and 2 years of relevant experience.
- Certifications: Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
- Have or obtain one of the following licenses:
- As issued by the State of Texas Board of Nursing Examiners a current Registered Nurse (RN) license and licensure as a nurse practitioner (NP)
- Or as issued by the State of Texas Physician Assistant Board licensure as a physician assistant (PA).
- Must be able to obtain Texas state licensure prior to start date.
Department of Energy (DOE) Order 426.2A Requirements
Preferred Job Requirements
- Minimum five years of clinical experience.
- As issued by the Department of Transportation maintain a license to certify medically commerical driver licenses holders.

Position may require entry into Materials Access Areas (MAA) and participation in the Human Reliability Program (HRP). If HRP is required candidate must complete a counterintelligence-scope polygraph pursuant to 10 CFR 709. Medical requirements may apply.
