Job Profile Summary:
Performs human resources activities in the areas of recruitment retention benefits and troubleshooting payroll issues. Provides services as a resource contact disseminating information on rules regulations procedures and statutes.

Job Description:

Position Salary Range:

  • $48600 - $60800per year

Essential Duties:

  • Works closely with college administration and central OHR to coordinate all departmental human resource activities to ensure adherence with college and university policies practices and regulations.
  • Investigates payroll discrepancies and works as a liaison between the unit and human resources to reach a solution.
  • Works closely with the unit financial administrator or financial specialist to review account expenditure requests and obtain expenditure approvals in accordance with established financial guidelines and policies.
  • Performs all activities associated with Department Time Administrator to ensure accurate and timely recording of exception and positive time for human resource staff members.
  • Coordinates with auditor to schedule internal and external audits; including but not limited to verification of approval levels salary for all employees and written internal reconciliation process.
  • Preparing audit documents for payroll reconciliations. Perform routine payroll reconciliation in coordination with payroll end dates.
  • Coordinate all staff and faculty visa application and renewal processes.
  • Performs clerical functions with personal computers and appropriate software for various human resources processes including form preparation report preparation and other related functions.
  • Coordinate and process personnel searches and hiring within the department and maintains personnel files consistent with university policies and practices.
  • Works closely with college administration and central OHR Benefits office to research and resolve faculty staff and student benefit issues.
  • Gathers relevant materials and coordinates with central OHR to advise and assist staff in the handling of employee relations issues complaints and/or grievances.
  • May supervise train and evaluate assigned staff or student workers.
  • Participates in a variety of departmental college and university-wide initiatives and meetings to represent human resource interest and ensure integration/collaborative support of college and university wide interests.
  • Performs other duties as assigned to ensure continual efficient operations of department to meet customer service needs.

  • Experience with ASU systems such as Workday Google Microsoft Office and Smartsheet.
  • Knowledge of human resource practices regulations and standards.
  • Skill in planning analyzing and establishing priorities.
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
  • Skill in effective communication.
  • Ability to work effectively in an environment subject to quickly changing priorities sensitive/confidential information and short deadlines.
  • Ability to develop and maintain cooperative working relationships both within and across organizational areas.
  • Ability to lead by example in communicating participating and encouraging support of the institutions sustainability programs.
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with faculty and staff.

Working Environment:

  • Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting keyboarding and manipulating a computer mouse (75%); required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work (10%).
  • Frequent bending reaching lifting pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds (5%).
  • Regular activities require ability to quickly change priorities which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts.
  • Ability to clearly communicate verbally read write see and hear to perform essential functions.
  • Regular use of standard office equipment including but not limited to computer workstation/laptop (keyboard monitor mouse) printer fax calculator copier telephone and associated computer/technology peripherals.; This position receives regular review of objectives by department manager.
