Job Description:
L3Harris is seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Technician to join its Norfolk-VA team. The manufacturing technician will perform a wide variety of mechanical or electro-mechanical assembly operations on mechanical assemblies sub-assemblies or end products.
Essential Functions:
- Performs a variety of mechanical or electro-mechanical assembly operations on mechanical assemblies sub-assemblies or end products in a repetitive nature
- Follows an engineered assembly process but may require the ability to adjust fit or align parts
- Uses hand tools such as long nose pliers screw drivers soldering irons and wrenches
- Maintains consistent quality and productivity levels
- Performs hand soldering on electronic assemblies
- Willingness to learn and work in a fast-paced flexible production environment
- Works as part of a team and collaborates to accomplish tasks
- Able to lift and move up to 25 lbs.
- Works overtime as needed.
- Follow an engineered assembly process and maintain consistent quality and productivity levels.
Qualifications:
- Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with 0-2 years of prior related experience.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office programs.
- At least 2 years of experience with electronic assembly.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Previous assembly skills and strong mechanical background.
- L3Harris product knowledge.
- Self-Starter willingness to train and mentor entry level assemblers.
- Capable of identifying problems and contributing to process improvements through the E3 process.
- Lean manufacturing skills.
- CostPoint system knowledge.
