We are seeking a Casual Support Worker for our Womens Refuge which operates on a 24/7 basis.
As a Support Worker you will work in a trauma informed way to liaise with Support Coordinators and provide capacity building support as determined by the clients recovery goals.
This position provides support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women escaping family and domestic violence (FDV) with complex needs through crisis accommodation in a womens refuge. The role requires familiarity and knowledge as well as understanding of diversity gender and social inclusion particularly Aboriginal culture. This role is an opportunity to provide crisis assistance including support in mental health and homelessness. The ideal candidate will have an understanding of intersecting mental health drug and alcohol and domestic violence issues.
This casual position is available for candidates who identify as female in accordance with Section 27of theEqual Opportunity Act 1984 .
