Job Summary
Oaks Cairns Hotel are looking for skilled and experienced Cook to join our kitchen team on a Casual basis.
This role is essential in supporting the smooth operation of the kitchen preparing and cooking a variety of dishes to a consistently high standard and helping deliver an exceptional dining experience for guests.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Prepare ingredients and assist with the cooking and plating of meals.
- Cook a variety of dishes in line with menu standards and guest expectations.
- Ensure excellent presentation of meals before service.
- Maintain proper food storage safety and hygiene standards.
- Keep the kitchen clean organised and compliant with Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) requirements.
- Support team members to ensure smooth daily kitchen operations.
Shift Details (subject to change):
- Rotating roster across Monday to Sunday
- Shifts scheduled across breakfast and dinner periods
- Casual position currently offering minimum 20 hours per week. Additional hours may be available however subject to change.
- Immediate start available
Hourly Rates (excluding superannuation):
Monday - Friday: $32.31 per hour
Saturday: $38.78 per hour
Sunday: $45.24 per hour
Qualifications :
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Minimum 12 months experience as a cook or in a similar kitchen role.
- Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
- Positive proactive attitude and genuine passion for cooking.
- Flexibility to work a range of shifts including weekends and public holidays.
