Role:Clinician-Alcohol and Other Drugs
Employment Type:12 MonthMaximum Term Full Time
As a clinician within our innovative Next Steps Drug and Alcohol Program providing targeted support to participants who have previously been reluctant to engage with treatment services.
You will support and encourage participants to access assessment and treatment for their alcohol and other drug concerns providing community based assistance for those in the acute phase of AOD use while working closely with families guardians and other key stakeholders to ensure a cohesive high quality support system around each participant.
Key Responsibilities
Provide outreach and face to face engagement with clientsestablishingrapport and building trust with difficult to engage participants
Deliver therapeutic AOD treatment interventions including brief interventions counselling groupworkand family counselling
Provide case management support including referrals to external agencies
Assistclients with managing alcohol and substance use related conditions
Participate in regular multidisciplinary team meetings
Provide supportmentorshipand skill development within the broader AOD team
Skills & Experience
Tertiary qualifications in Psychology Speech Pathology Occupational Therapy or Social Work with current registration or eligibility to practice
Current unrestricted Drivers Licence
Significant experienceassessingplanningand implementing client and family centred interventions particularly forthoseexhibitinghigh riskbehavioursand complex comorbidities.
Experience implementing client centred and family centred interventions
Strongproblem solvingskills with the ability to use initiative and think strategically
Excellent interpersonalverbaland written communication skills Effective time management and organisational skills
Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
Successful candidates willbe requiredto clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and SA Working with Children Check
