Retina Surgeon Technician Position Summary: The Retina Surgeon Technician primary responsibility is prepping patients for appointments with the physician. Tasks include interviewing patients and documenting their history diagnostic testing scribing for the physician injections lasers and other in-office retina procedures. The Retina RHT will also assist the retina surgeon with surgical procedures in the ASC. Additionally the technician would assist with other tasks both clerical and patient care related. These tasks include instrument sterilization patient communications chart work-up medication reconciliation and medication transfers. Once surgically trained the Retina RHT will also be expected to take on-call. What youll do: - Prepping and assisting the physician during office visits (documenting patient history scribing charting and billing)
- Prepping and assisting the physician with intravitreal injection and other in-office procedures
- First assist and scrub for physicians surgical cases in ASC
- Obtaining diagnostic tests as ordered by the provider as needed
- Assist with clinical tasks
- Assist with sterilization of equipment and maintenance of all associated logbooks
- Assist with patient workups as needed
- Assist with medication reconciliation through CubixxMD
- Assist with medication transfers to satellite offices
- Must be able to travel between office locations
Knowledge Skills Abilities and Personal Characteristics: - Can effectively communicate with patients and staff
- Can respond appropriately and effectively to common inquiries from patients
- Basic computer knowledge and the ability to learn new computer skills
- Requires strong communication skills excellent judgment and the ability to multitask
- Requires excellent interpersonal skills
- Requires a good understanding of customer service standards and values of the practice
Minimum Qualifications - High school diploma
- COA certification a plus but not required; willingness to work towards certification over a period of time.
- 1 years of experience working in a retina clinic.
