Job Summary

AccuWeather is looking for a highly technicalDirector Solutions Engineering. The Director Solutions Engineering will lead the Solutions Engineering team and sit at the intersection ofsales product and our customers engineering teams. Youll partner closely with Account Executives to drive new business and expansion deeply understand customer requirements and design solutions that show how ourAPIs data and productswill plug into each clients environment. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Pre-Sales & Customer-Facing

  • Partner with the sales team throughout the deal cycle as theprimary technical point of contact.
  • Lead technical discovery with prospects and customers to understand theirsystems workflows and integration requirements.
  • Design and articulateend-to-end solution architectures showinghow our APIs data and products integrate into customer environments.
  • Deliver tailoredproduct demos technical deep-dives and proofs of concept (POCs)that address customer use cases.
  • Join sales calls and presentations to handletechnical questions objections and solution design inreal time.

Solution Design & Implementation Support

  • Translate customer business problems intoclear technical solutions integration patterns and implementation plans.
  • Work closely with customer engineering data and IT teams todefine data flows API usage error handling and security considerations.
  • Createtechnical documentation reference architectures and integration guides to support customer implementation.
  • Ensure whats promised in pre-sales isrealistic supportable and aligned withour product capabilities.

RFPs & Technical Documentation

  • Own thetechnical portions of RFPs/RFIs questionnaires and security/compliance reviews.
  • Coordinate with product engineering and legal to produceaccurate complete and on-time responses.
  • Maintain a library ofreusable RFP answers diagrams and technical collateral tostreamline future responses.

Product Feedback & Roadmap Influence

  • Act as thevoice of the customer internally: capture and synthesize feature requests gaps and recurring patterns.
  • Work closely with Product Management toinfluence the roadmapbased on market feedback and deal-critical requirements.
  • Help validate new features with early customers and bring insights back into the organization.

Internal Collaboration & Enablement

  • Train and enable the sales team onproduct capabilities positioning and technical talking points.
  • Collaborate with marketing ontechnical content(solution briefs integration one-pagers FAQs etc.).
  • Contribute to internalbest practices playbooks and templates forsolution design and sales engineering.
  • Lead a team of solutions engineers.

QUALIFICATIONS
Required Qualifications

  • 8-10 yearsin aSolutions Engineer Sales Engineer Pre-Sales Engineer or similartechnical customer-facing role (or equivalent experience as a software engineer with strong customer exposure).
  • Strong technical background in at least one of:
    • APIs and integrations(REST webhooks OAuth SDKs)
    • Data products(data feeds ETL data modeling data platforms)
    • Cloud / SaaS architectures
  • Ability toread and reason about code(e.g. in Python JavaScript Java or similar) and speak credibly with customer engineers.
  • Proven experiencedesigning or explaining solution architecturesto both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Excellentcommunication and storytelling skillsable to turn complex technical concepts into clear compelling narratives.
  • Comfort joining sales calls handling objections and collaborating closely with Account Executives.
  • Strongrequirements-gathering and problem-solvingskills; you ask good questions and connect dots quickly.
  • 1-3 years experience leading managing and motivating a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Understanding of government RFPs processes; aggregating and preparing responses and presentations
  • Experience working in weather data space supporting businesses.
  • Familiarity withenterprise integration patterns security standards and scalable architectures.
  • Prior experience managingPOCs pilots or limited production rollouts.
  • Experience withRFP/RFI processesand tools.
  • Background insoftware engineering solutions architecture or technical consulting.
