Due to continued development of its student support structures the school is seeking a committed and proactive Pastoral Support Officer.

Role Overview

The Pastoral Support Officer will provide targeted support to students who require additional guidance ensuring barriers to learning are identified and addressed effectively.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing one-to-one and small group mentoring

  • Supporting behaviour intervention plans

  • Monitoring student attendance and punctuality

  • Working with Heads of Year to support vulnerable students

  • Liaising with parents and carers

  • Supporting safeguarding referrals

  • Promoting restorative practices

  • Assisting with reintegration following absence or exclusion

  • Supporting transition between key stages

  • Maintaining accurate pastoral records

The role requires resilience empathy and a proactive approach to student support.

Pastoral Team Information

The Pastoral Support Officer will work closely with Heads of Year the SENCO and the safeguarding team. Weekly case review meetings ensure coordinated and consistent support.

Candidate Requirements
