Due to expansion of the creative programme the school is seeking a skilled and reliable Performing Arts Technician.
The Performing Arts Technician will support all technical aspects of school productions concerts assemblies and events.
Key responsibilities include:
Setting up and operating lighting sound and AV systems
Supporting rehearsals and live performances
Managing stage setup and equipment maintenance
Ensuring health and safety compliance in performance spaces
Maintaining inventory of technical equipment
Assisting staff and students with technical training
Coordinating backstage operations
Supporting external hires and school events
Troubleshooting technical issues
Supporting development of new productions
Flexibility is required including occasional evening work during production periods.
The technician works closely with the Head of Performing Arts and music and drama teachers. The department delivers multiple productions annually and participates in regional competitions.
The school provides ongoing professional development in technical theatre and AV systems.
Experience in theatre sound or lighting technology
Knowledge of stage management
Strong organisational skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Understanding of health and safety regulations
