Job Summary

Analyzes assesses and improves asset integrity reliability and effectiveness of preventative and predictive maintenance based on data collected through Inspection Testing and Maintenance program activity. Performs/participates in inspections reliability incidents investigations rotating equipment reliability analyses optimizations and mechanical integrity reviews; incorporates findings into the asset care strategy.

Performs routine assignments under general supervision. Gaining knowledge of work procedures and practices.

Manufacturing Operations is accepting online applications for the position of Experienced Journeymen Class A CDL Drivers located in the Richmond California Refinery through February 25th 2026 at at 11:59 pm (Pacific Time Zone).

The CDL Truck Driver / Equipment Operator will perform a variety of maintenance related work in the field and shop settings of the refinery requiring a journeyman-level skill set. Qualified successful candidates will perform duties such as flatbed delivery fuel truck/tanker operation passenger transport forklift operation etc. Training on heavy equipment and cranes inside the Richmond Refinery will commence over time as a new hire demonstrates progress aptitude and embraces the safety culture established by Chevron Corp and the Richmond Refinery.

As a 24/7/365 operating refinery and marketing facility overtime weekend holiday swing and night shift work is required.

Key Job Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

  • Technical Job Knowledge Demonstrated experience driving class A commercial vehicles and operating heavy equipment. Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance procedures federal and state laws industry practices and duties.

  • Teamwork Ability to work cohesively as a team member both inside and outside the organization. A demonstrated willingness to learn and improve throughout the 12 month probation period.

  • Initiative Initiates and perform tasks with minimal work direction from management. Must be highly motivated with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously. and require minimal supervision.

  • Flexibility - Willingness to work overtime and change schedules when a business need arises. This includes nights weekends and holidays.

  • Safety Successful candidates will possess strong knowledge of safe work practices and foster a safe work environment. Extensive computer based safety training with deadlines and verifications is required for all Refinery employees.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.

  • Valid Class A CDL Drivers License including HAZ and Tanker endorsements.

  • Candidates must have 2 years verifiable recent work experience in a related industry.

  • Candidates must demonstrate practical knowledge and strong verbal and written communications skills.

  • TWIC Certification or able to obtain TWIC at start of employment

Preferred Qualifications:

The following endorsements or certs.

  • Drivers License passenger endorsement.

  • Refining or Petrochemical experience.

  • Certified Crane Operator Certificate.
