As the Commercial Insurance Service Manager you will lead and develop the commercial service team ensuring exceptional client experiences operational excellence and strong team performance. Your responsibilities will include:
Team Leadership & Development:
Lead coach and mentor Commercial Lines Account Managers Account Assistants and support staff to deliver consistent high-quality service.
Establish clear expectations prioritize workloads conduct performance reviews and support ongoing training and development initiatives.
Client Service Excellence:
Oversee servicing for commercial clients including mid-market and large accounts ensuring timely and accurate renewals endorsements documentation and certificates.
Resolve escalated client concerns and support retention and cross-selling initiatives in partnership with the commercial team.
Operational Management:
Maintain and enforce workflows procedures and compliance standards to ensure accuracy and regulatory adherence.
Monitor key performance metrics such as retention service turnaround times and client satisfaction and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency.
Carrier & Market Coordination:
Build and maintain strong relationships with carriers and underwriting partners to secure competitive terms and ensure alignment with market appetite.
Support new business marketing strategies and negotiations while ensuring the team is aligned with carrier guidelines and products.
Risk Management & Compliance:
Ensure adherence to E&O best practices documentation standards and internal guidelines.
Identify service gaps or exposure concerns and collaborate with the commercial team to proactively mitigate risk.
To succeed in this role candidates should demonstrate the following:
Education & Experience:
A Level 2 General Insurance License (or higher) is required.
5 years of experience in commercial insurance with leadership or senior account management experience preferred.
Technical Skills:
Strong understanding of commercial P&C coverages including GL Property Cyber D&O and related lines.
Proficiency with Applied EPIC and carrier portals is required.
Key Competencies:
Proven leadership and coaching abilities with a collaborative team-oriented approach.
Strong organizational critical thinking and communication skills in a fast-paced deadline-driven environment.
