Penick Village is seeking a detail-oriented energetic Event Associate for our Life Enrichment Team.
The Event Associate is responsible for designing coordinating implementing facilitating and documenting high-quality life enrichment programs and events that nurture the mind body and spirit of residents across Independent Living Assisted Living Skilled Nursing and Garden Cottage.
This role serves residents at all levels of care and requires both strong event-planning skills and a dynamic engaging presence. The position calls for a country club level of hospitality paired with cruise director energy - someone who not only plans and executes large-scale events but also actively engages residents facilitates participation and creates an atmosphere that is vibrant welcoming and fun.
Normal working hours are MondayFriday 9:30 a.m.6:00 p.m. with flexibility required for evenings weekends holidays and occasional out-of-town trips. The employee must be punctual and present for all scheduled shifts.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Event Planning & Program Development
- Plan coordinate implement and document a diverse high-quality calendar of life enrichment programs special events themed dinners trips celebrations and large-scale experiences.
- Create and implement a monthly Independent Living calendar outlining scheduled activities including signature events and excursions.
- Develop activities that reflect resident interests abilities cultural backgrounds and wellness goals across all levels of care.
- Deliver events with a hospitality-driven mindset ensuring an elevated country club-style experience.
- Coordinate logistics including scheduling transportation vendors décor space setup supplies and equipment.
- Drive residents to outings and events including evening weekend and occasional out-of-town trips.
- Ensure programs run smoothly safely and on schedule.
Facilitation Engagement & Documentation
- Serve as an energetic host and facilitator encouraging resident participation and engagement.
- Actively engage residents before during and after events to foster connection and increase attendance.
- Provide programming support within Skilled Nursing Assisted Living and Garden Cottage.
- Assist with Life Enrichment Assessments for Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing residents as needed.
- Document resident participation accurately and timely in accordance with community standards and regulatory requirements.
- Adapt activities to accommodate varying physical cognitive and sensory needs.
- Promote an inclusive and welcoming environment for all residents.
Collaboration & Campus Support
- Work closely with Dining Services to support life enrichment events and coordinate food and beverage offerings (e.g. Happy Hour Wine Club).
- Collaborate with HR to provide campus-wide events for residents and staff.
- Partner with Marketing to promote events through flyers newsletters and other communications.
- Develop and maintain relationships with volunteers performers instructors and community partners.
- Coordinate campus holiday decorations with residents and staff.
Administrative & Organizational Duties
- Maintain accurate calendars attendance records and participation documentation.
- Create sign-up sheets and promotional materials.
- Distribute Life Enrichment calendars and communications.
- Assist with budgeting expense tracking departmental shopping and inventory.
- Organize Life Enrichment equipment and keep all areas clean and resident friendly.
- Ensure compliance with safety guidelines policies and procedures.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Life Enrichment Coordinator or Chief Operating Officer

Qualifications
Education & Experience
Associates or Bachelors degree in Recreation Therapy Event Management Gerontology Social Work or a related field preferred.
Previous experience in event planning life enrichment recreation or senior services strongly preferred.
Experience working with older adults or in a senior living environment is a plus.
Must be able to drive 14 passenger bus.
Must stay current with any professional certifications as well as Penick Village and departmental training.
Must demonstrate proficiency with computer skills including Microsoft Outlook Word Publisher PowerPoint Excel and learn how to utilize Touchtown computer software for calendar generation.
