Device Engineer II

motivated and detailoriented Embedded Firmware Engineer to join our Device Engineering team. This role is ideal for engineers with 23 years of experience who are excited to work close to hardwarewithmodernembedded firmware architectures and integrate with a growing ecosystem of thirdparty devices used in security and smart home applications.

You will contribute to the development and maintenance of embedded firmware running on resourceconstrained devices with a strong focus on integrating security panels sensors and other thirdparty help evolve our firmware platforms toward more modern realtime operating systems such as Zephyr improving reliability scalability and maintainability across our device portfolio. This role involves close collaboration with Software Engineering Quality Engineering Product and Project Management teams to deliver highquality customerfacing products and contributing to the ongoing development of our firmware automation and CI/CD pipelines to improve build test and release efficiency.

• Design develop andmaintainembedded firmware for connected security andcellularIoT devices
• Integrate andvalidatethirdparty devices such as security panels sensors and peripheral modules
• Contribute to the transition of existing firmware architectures to modern RTOSbased platforms
• Implement andmaintaindevice drivers communication stacks and applicationlevel logic
• Work closely with Software Engineering Quality Engineering Product and Project Management to define requirements resolve issues and deliver features on schedule
• Debug and troubleshoot issues across hardware and software boundaries using lab tools and logging frameworks
• Help buildmaintain and enhance automated testing build systems and CI/CD pipelines for embedded firmware
• Participate in code reviews and help improve firmware quality testability and documentation

What You Bring

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science Computer Engineering Electrical Engineering related field or equivalent experience.
• 13 years of professional experience developing embedded firmware in C/C
• Experience working on microcontrollerbased systems in a production environment
• Familiarity with RTOS concepts such as tasks scheduling synchronization and memory management
• Experience integrating external devices or peripherals using common interfaces (UART SPI I2C GPIO etc.)
• Strong debugging skills and comfort working with hardware tools (JTAG/SWD logic analyzers oscilloscopes)
• Ability to collaborate effectively within crossfunctional engineering teams

Nice to Have

• Handson experience withFreeRTOS Zephyr or similar realtime operating systems
• Experience integrating or supporting thirdparty hardware or vendor SDKs
• Familiarity with embedded firmware automation CI/CD systems or hardwareintheloop testing
• Experience working in Agile or iterative product development environments
• Worked with AIassisted development tools to accelerate firmware development improve code quality and /orsupportautomated testing and CI/CD workflows.
• Experience with common communication protocols. Wireless technology familiarity is a plus (cellular Wi-Fi Bluetooth Z-Wave Zigbeeetc).
