You dont need previous experience in this area if you have a keen interest in information management and a willingness to learn.

Information is one of our most valuable assets supporting the delivery of social security benefits to around 1 million people across Scotland. This is an important role at the heart of the organisation supporting the front line delivery of benefits to Scottish citizens by ensuring that information is managed lawfully efficiently and ethically.

As part of the Records Management Team you will be responsible for helping to develop the organisations records management function ensuring compliance with the Public Records (Scotland) Act 2011 through the development implementation and ongoing review of the Agencys Records Management Plan.

You will help to develop policies for the effective management of records and information and ensure compliance with these through assurance work.

You will provide expert advice on record keeping and the effective use of the Scottish Governments electronic record and document management system eRDM embedding good practice across a large and diverse organisation.

  • Provide expert advice and support to all staff to embed best practice records management across the organisation.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to promote and implement records management.
  • Support with overall administration and coordination across the wider Information Governance Team.
  • Help to deliver training packages on Records Management to colleagues across Social Security Scotland.
  • You will assist with continuous improvement in information management across Social Security Scotland by helping to implement the organisations Records Management Plan.
  • Help to upskill and manage key networks across the organisation (Information Asset Managers and Information Management Support Officers) who act as points of contact for records management within their business areas.
  • Liaise with the Scottish Government eRDM Team to ensure consistency of approach across wider government.

Working Pattern
Our standard hours are 35 hours perweekand we offer a range of flexible working options depending on the needs of the role. We embrace a hybrid working style where all colleagues will spend time in either our Glasgow or Dundee offices. There is an expectation of a minimum 2 days per week in your assigned location which will be either Glasgow or you have specific questions about the role you are applying for please contact us.
