The Packaging Engineer designs creates tests and improves new innovative and existing packaging for products. Engages cross-functionally with other technical / engineering teams to define product requirements develop concepts drive production processes test prototypes and make real time adjustments to improve performance and functionality. Ensure all packaging is according to design technical specifications and cost targets.
Location: Onsite NC Ohio
Responsibilities- Ideate develop and implement packaging solutions that meet the needs of the company regulatory bodies and customers.
- Identify evaluate and select ideal packaging materials and design for transport of DN products
- Work on reducing packaging-related costs and improving the efficiency of the product packaging process.
- Helps identify and validate product risks and works with the team on mitigation strategies.
- Helps define test methodology and coverage to ensure proper transportation of product
- Performs engineering verification testing on next generation products interfacing with engineering and product experts to help drive new product development programs.
- Provides up-to-date accurate information for colleagues and management.
QualificationsRequired Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering Bachelor of Science in Packaging or equivalent.
- Minimum of 0-4 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience in Packaging Development.
- Use mechanical CAD software and business productivity tools including computers and all relevant software.
- Knowledge of packaging technology materials and design principles with knowledge of testing methods regulations and standards for packaging.
- Familiarity with production equipment and manufacturing processes.
- Location: Onsite North Canton Ohio
- Travel required up to 20 % within US and international as needed basis.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience model building in a lab hardware troubleshooting skills.
- Design & execute tests and technical report writing.
- Understanding of regulatory requirements related to packaging materials and design.
- Knowledge of additive manufacturing and 3D printing technologies.
- Understanding of sustainability and environmental issues related to packaging.
- Requires excellent problem-solving skills attention to detail and the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively within a team environment.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
