Description

Through the National Shipbuilding Strategy (NSS) the Government of Canada has embarked on one of the largest procurement projects since the Second World War. The NSS is a nation-building effort to create a sustainable Canadian shipbuilding industry secure long-term job opportunities and build the next generation of ships for the Canadian Coast Guard and Royal Canadian Navy. Through its NSSrelated work Seaspan Shipyards is owning the redevelopment of our domestic shipbuilding industry on the West Coast and delivering on the promise of ships built in Canada by Canadians.

The Intern Revenue Accounting will assist with the timely invoicing of National Shipbuilding Strategy (NSS) programs by validating costs and the preparation of applicable backup. The role will also support with the ESS time-keeping input for both hourly and salary employees. Additionally the role will assist in maintaining accurate Employee Self-Service (ESS) timekeeping records for both hourly and salaried employees.

Note: Due to business needs this position is required to be fully on-site based at 115 Carrie Cates Court North Vancouver.

What youll do

  • Preparation of backup for NSS related invoices in accordance with contractual andinternal guidelines.
  • Verify Material Cost Transfers and Project cost transaction data extracted from ERP and Business Intelligence Reporting.
  • Assemble cost database files and supporting documentation by compiling data from various sources.
  • Perform reconciliations and resolve data discrepancies to ensure accuracy of customer invoices as needed.
  • Liaise with operational and financial personnel on relevant invoicing information.
  • Assist in ensuring Employee adherence to ESS Timekeeping internal policies and controls that support current processes.
  • Other Ad-hoc projects as required.

What youll bring

  • Enrollment in 3rd year of a Finance Accounting or Business Administration degree program.
  • Completion of introductory accounting classes is preferred.
  • Demonstrated project and/or contract knowledge and skills through exposure to class projects or co-op terms.
  • Outstanding analytical skills to capture analyze and process large amounts of data.
  • Innovative thinking skills with the resourcefulness to get to the source of truth.
  • Outstanding integrity and honesty in all situations.
  • Strong communication interpersonal and organization skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of the English language verbal and written.
  • Experience and strong comfort with Microsoft Excel.
  • Outstanding problem solving and research skills.
  • Minimum 50 WPM typing skills.
  • Strong academic results.

We require a full-time commitment Monday-Friday 40 hours per week with an hourly rate of $26.00/hour.

Start Date of Internship: Monday May 4th 2026.

End Date of Internship: Friday August 28th 2026 (4-Months).
