The Opportunity

This position works out of our Pleasanton CA location in the Heart Failure Abbotts Heart Failure (HF) business were developing solutions to diagnose monitor and manage heart failure allowing people to restore their health and get on with their lives.

The main responsibility of the MES EngineerII Manufacturingis to support the use of the MES system in the manufacturing environment.This position oversees manufacturing engineering related tasks and projects in and working with the assigned site resources to carry out tasks and ensures that they are delivered on time. This person will betrained onand then willbe responsible forhaving an in-depth understanding of MES in the manufacturing engineering space as well as overall MES processes.Thisroleincludes change managementtroubleshootingand continuous improvement activities ensuring the site delivers safe and effective products that meet customer needs whilstmaintainingcompliance. The MESEngineerII Manufacturingwill provide subject matterexpertiseto the operations team for day-to-day production and project work to ensure that output targets are met in line with the production plan.

What Youll Work On

  • Provide SME knowledge to the operations team with respect to the MES system
  • Lead and execute New MES integrations collaborating with site resources andcrossfunctionalteams to support successful project outcomes
  • Partner with Operations Supply Chain Engineering IT and Quality functions to ensure efficient and effective MES site support during operational hours
  • Work with the operations teams to deliver on department goals schedules and timetables for activities.
  • Ensuring conformance with all relevant Policies and Procedures. Contributing to the creation of Work Instructions and Procedures tomaintaincompliance.
  • Coach andmentorthe operations team on the use of the MES system upskilling operations staff on the basics of troubleshooting.Provide onboarding and training support to new Manufacturing Engineering team members involved in MES activities.
  • Coordinate regularly with the Abbott global MES team provide updatesalignon system changes and supporting large-scale configuration initiatives
  • Support global enhancement initiatives including requirements gathering impact assessments prioritization discussions and user acceptance testing (UAT)
  • Report progress risks and issues in a clear andtimelymanner escalating concerns as needed tomaintainproject momentum
  • Troubleshoot and develop resolutions for unexpected IDOC and related system interface errors working with IT and system owners when necessary
  • Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and performing otherduties asassigned by management.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in mechanical Industrial chemicalBiomedicalor related Engineering areaor an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Minimum of three years of experience
  • Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment
  • Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced changing environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communications withabilityto effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization
  • Ability toleverageand/or engage othersto accomplishprojects. Multitasksprioritizesand meets deadlines intimelymanner.
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills as well as attention to detail
  • Ability to travel approximately15% including internationally

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previousmedical deviceand MESexperience preferred
  • Experience working in a broader enterprise/cross-division business unit model preferred
