About the Role

As a member of a multi-disciplinary team as part of the Mental Health and Wellness department the Financial Counsellor will provide individual counselling to clients who have experienced mental health issues and/or family and domestic violence to empower them to gain financial independence and effectively manage their finances.

This is a full-time permanent position located in our Geraldton office working 38 hours per week between Monday to Friday.

What were looking for

The successful applicant will be required to meet the following criteria:

  • Minimum qualification of Diploma of Financial Counsellingor1-3 years experience in financial counselling and a sound knowledge of financial counselling practices.
  • Current registration with the Financial Counselling Association of WA (FCAWA)
  • Previous experience providing counselling services to women who have experienced family and domestic violence and/or clients with mental health concerns.
  • Sound understanding of community resources and ability to navigate external agency requirements to support clients.
  • Capability to work within a trauma and culturally informed model of service delivery.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of diversity and social-inclusion including gender sexuality disability cultural age and linguistic diversity and Aboriginal culture.
