TheInsurance Verification Specialistis responsible for ensuring accurate patient demographicand insurance information is reported in each claim.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES ANDRESPONSIBILITIES
Requesthospital face sheet/demographics to obtain payer/demographic information
Verifypayer information and select/add appropriate payer information on alltransports
Checkappropriate insurance websites and/or contact the patient on all private payaccounts prior to billing
ReviewPCR or face sheets for missing insurance and other pertinent information inrelation to billing
Work andresolve any claim for which a denial was received
Followup on rejected claims
Workreturned mail
Other job-relatedduties as assigned

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEREQUIRED
HighSchool diploma or GED
Minimumof one year of experience in insurance verification or related billing role.
Minimumof one year of experience in data entry or administrative work within ahealthcare or billing environment.
Emergicon requires satisfactory pre-employment background check and drug screen.
