DescriptionAs a Scientist Intertek are currently recruiting for a motivated and technically capable scientist to join their expanding team in Melbourn. Primarily the role will work as an integral part of the Technical Team within the Laboratory contributing to high-quality analytical delivery while developing confidence in investigation and decision-making capability.

Required skills and experience:
- IT literate
- Strong numeracy skills with the ability to accurately calculate evaluate and present analytical data
- Clear written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey technical information effectively
- Good knowledge and practical application of scientific methodologies GxP standards and Quality Management Systems
- Experience working within a GMP or regulated pharmaceutical laboratory environment
- Experience supporting laboratory investigations and recognising potential data anomalies
- Knowledge of laboratory safety procedures performance standards handling chemicals and COSHH
- Degree level qualification within a relevant scientific discipline (e.g. Chemistry or related field) or relevant industry experience
- Customer focused with exposure to client-facing laboratory environments
- Experience of chromatography techniques such as HPLC and/or GC
On a daily basis you will perform routine and non-routine analytical activities including preparation and analysis of samples using a range of techniques within a GMP laboratory.
Working within a close-knit and collaborative technical team you will gain exposure to complex pharmaceutical programmes while strengthening your analytical and investigation skills.
- Trained in practical aspects of multiple analytical techniques (e.g. HPLC/GC) able to generate accurate and reliable data
- Identify and raise potential artefacts or anomalies contributing to investigation activities
- Follow and interpret complex analytical methods within established GMP procedures
- Process and assess raw data in a timely and compliant manner
- Plan and organise own workload effectively to meet agreed deadlines
- Communicate clearly within the laboratory team and support client-facing work where required
- Demonstrate a proactive solution-focused mindset
- Work priorities agreed with Laboratory Manager and Team Leader with growing autonomy as experience develops
