Job Summary

Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Oversees activities related to the purchase of material material control inventory control shipping/receiving and stores functions.
  • Develops implements and maintains policies procedures and material control systems.
  • Ensures materials are ordered and in stock to meet company requirements while maintaining acceptable inventory levels.
  • Develops material schedules and coordinates the efficient movement of materials with purchasing production and engineering.
  • Reviews and plans requirements for purchasing materials.
  • Prepare material requirement plans using enterprise resource planning systems.
  • Assist with the establishment and maintenance of the production control system.
  • Selects develops and evaluates personnel to ensure the function operates efficiently.

Education & Experience

  • A degree or equivalent
  • 3-5 years of Procurement and Materials experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • 3 years of Purchasing Leadership or Strategic Sourcing Experience
  • Effective negotiation and supplier management skills including management of international suppliers and contract manufacturers.
  • Thorough understanding of inventory reduction techniques blanket replenishment agreements and commercial purchasing terms.
  • Formal communication and presentation skills. Strong ability to format data into concise completee and meaningful information and commitments
  • Supervisory motivation coaching and people development skills.
  • Direct experience with Oracle ERP or equivalent.
  • Ability to plan and track material sourcing projects utilizing project management best practices.
  • Ability to facilitate and influence cross-functional problem-solving and process improvement

Skills

  • Leadership capabilities for managing a team include the buyer/planner and the warehouse.
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills and enjoy the process of problem-solving
  • Work effectively with other members of Coherent Corp.
