Position Title: Assistant Manager - Purchasing
Working day: Monday to Friday 830am - 5:30pm
Work Location: Cheras KL
Salary range: up to RM6000
Main Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement purchasing strategies to achieve cost efficiency quality standards and on-time delivery targets.
- Source evaluate and negotiate with suppliers for materials trims accessories and footwear items.
- Oversee and manage Purchase Orders (POs) ensuring accuracy compliance and timely fulfilment.
- Ensure all purchasing activities comply with company SOPs documentation standards and audit requirements.
- Monitor stock levels and coordinate closely with Production and Warehouse teams to prevent shortages or overstock situations.
- Manage and control purchasing budgets while supporting cost-saving and value-improvement initiatives.
- Review and evaluate supplier performance maintaining accurate and up-to-date vendor records.
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships and proactively resolve delivery quality or supply issues.
- Work collaboratively with Production Warehouse and Accounts to support operational and business needs.
- Lead guide and supervise the purchasing team providing training performance guidance and decision support.
Job Requirements
- Minimum qualification of a Diploma or Bachelors Degree in Supply Chain Management or a related study.
- At least 5 years of relevant hands-on experience in purchasing procurement or sourcing roles.
- Fluent in Bahasa Malaysia
- Experience in the apparel accessories and footwear industry will be a strong added advantage.
- Exposure to vendor management cost negotiation inventory planning and contract administration is preferred.
- Prior experience leading or supervising junior purchasing staff will be an added advantage.
