As a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) at New Story Schools youll support students with special needs by implementing behavior intervention plans and providing individualized assistance that promotes learning independence and social-emotional growth. Youll collaborate with teachers BCBAs and families to create safe structured classrooms where every student can thrive.
What Youll Need
Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification
High school diploma or GED
Effective communication and collaboration skills with students families and staff
Patience adaptability and emotional intelligence to support diverse student needs
Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office: Word Excel Outlook) for documentation and communication
What Youll Do
Provide classroom support by assisting students with academic tasks social interactions and adaptive daily living skills
Monitor and document student progress collaborating with the team to adjust supports as needed
Support self-help skills such as toileting feeding and hygiene to encourage independence
Ensure a safe learning environment by using proactive and positive behavior strategies
Partner with teachers BCBAs and families to maintain consistent individualized support
