About the opportunity:

We are developing a contingency list for summer seasonal and temporary summer opportunities in the Labourer 1 position over the 2026 this position your duties will include manual maintenance and construction work performed by the Civic Operations Department (Utilities Roads & Fleet and Parks & Solid Waste). Performing a variety of skilled tasks and varied manual work involving considerable physical effort and agility you will be expected to work in a safe manner following all applicable safety rules regulations and procedures. Please attach a current drivers abstract to your application.

About your background:

You have completed Grade 10 or GED and bring previous general labour experience along with the physical strength and stamina required for the role. You demonstrate the ability to safely and efficiently use tools and operate equipment recognize and address safety hazards and follow detailed oral and written instructions. A valid WorkSafeBC Occupational First Aid (OFA) Level 1 certification is considered an asset. A valid full-privilege Class 5 BC drivers licence (or out-of-province equivalent) is required. As a condition of employment the successful candidate must obtain and maintain a clear Police Information Check related to the position.

Temporary summer positions will end at the conclusion of the 2026 season and are not subject to recall.

Summer seasonal positions are subject to layoff typically in October and are recalled annually.
