What youll be doing
The role is a professional responsible for the integrity of financial and management accounting process used for reporting and business analysis managing professionals and managers to ensure that accurate accounting and reporting procedures are in place. The role applies professional knowledge to ensure the financial statement close and settlement process is conducted in a timely manner and aligned to financial accounting policies and procedures. The role manages professionals managers and operational support employees developing and maintaining productive and collaborative working relationships with internal and external business partners and stakeholders. This role provides financial accounting advisory services to business partners on a regular basis and month end attestations of all balances according to standard policy. The role often incorporates innovation into daily execution and management practices.

How youll succeed
Financial Oversight: Oversee daily monthly and quarterly balance sheet and P&L reporting for Capital Markets and Treasury derivatives and securities ensuring accuracy completeness and compliance with regulatory standards. Perform reconcilement of general ledger accounts resolve reconciling issues and ensure reporting is in line with US GAAP and IFRS. Oversee collateral movements and reconcile the banks securities against counterparties.
Who you are
You have a Bachelors degree in Finance Accounting Economics or related field; CPA or MBA preferred.
You possess 8 years of relevant experience in product control financial reporting or related roles within banking or capital markets.
You are a proven leadership experience managing teams in a fast-paced environment.
You have strong technical skills in financial products (derivatives fixed income etc.) valuation and risk management.
You show advanced proficiency in Excel; experience with financial systems (e.g. SAP Xtrader WSS TPG Cognos FIS) is an asset.
You portray excellent communication analytical and problem-solving skills.
You possess deep understanding of regulatory frameworks (IFRSUS GAAP etc.).
You are a strategic thinker with a background in leadership & people development.
You have solid financial acumen risk awareness and change management experience.
At CIBC we offer a competitive total rewards package. This role has an expected salary range of $125000 - $150000K for the Chicago IL market based on experience qualifications and location of the position. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business units incentive compensation plan which may also include a discretionary bonus component.
