Senior Trade Operations Analyst

Join our Hong Kong office as a Senior Trade Operations Analyst supporting a fast-paced trading environment across equities and equity derivatives. Operations are critical to our trading effortensuring trades positions cash and P&L are accurate controlled and scalable.

This is a senior role: youll stay hands-on with daily trade control while also leading initiatives acting as an escalation point and mentoring others as the desk and product set grow. Youll drive improvements through better controls smarter automation and strong cross-functional partnerships with Trading Tech and external counterparties.

What youll do

• Own day-to-day trade control: capture reconcile and validate trades/transactions/positions/cash; resolve breaks quickly and permanently through root-cause fixes.
• Own P&L and positions: maintain intra-day and end-of-day views; investigate variances and drive corrective and preventative actions.
• Operate within controls and compliance: execute processes within exchange/regulatory frameworks; support required submissions and maintain audit-ready evidence.
• Support execution integrity: under trader instruction use algorithmic tools; keep OMS/EMS exchange systems internal applications and spreadsheets accurate and in sync.
• Partner closely with traders dealers brokers clearing middle/back office and tech to keep information flowing and issues unblocked.
• Act as a first-line escalation point for complex breaks/incidents; prioritise by risk/materiality and drive issues to closure with clear communications.
• Streamline and automate workflows reconciliations and reporting using Excel/VBA/Python/SQL; reduce manual touchpoints error rates and time-to-resolve.
• Build scalable desk infrastructure: SOPs checklists dashboards and preventative controls that improve reliability transparency and auditability as the desk grows.
• Lead delivery of initiatives: onboard new markets/products and run operational projects from scoping through rollout including UAT change management and documentation.
• Mentor and develop junior analysts/new joiners through structured onboarding shadowing coaching and knowledge-sharing (runbooks/playbooks).
• Raise standards through consistent documentation process discipline and continuous improvement habits across the team.

• Experience: Strong background (typically 7 years) in trade operations/desk support within equities and equity derivatives with demonstrated end-to-end ownership of core processes in a trading environment.
• Product knowledge: Strong grasp of equities options and equity derivatives across the full trade lifecycle; futures and fixed income familiarity a plus.
• Controls mindset: High bar for accuracy data integrity and auditability; balances speed with rigour and implements preventative controlsnot just fixes.
• Issue ownership: Proven ability to prioritise by risk/materiality escalate early and drive complex breaks/incidents to closure with clear root-cause analysis and durable remediation.
• Tools: Proficient with Bloomberg and advanced Excel; able to improve workflows through practical automation using VBA/Python/SQL (highly regarded). Not required to be a full-time developer but must be able to reduce manual touchpoints and error rates.
• Delivery: Comfortable leading operational initiatives end-to-end (scoping stakeholder alignment testing/UAT rollout documentation) including onboarding new markets/products and scaling desk controls/reporting.
• Leadership & mentorship: Demonstrated ability to mentor others through onboarding coaching and knowledge-sharing (runbooks/playbooks) and to act as an informal escalation pointwithout requiring formal people management.
• Collaboration: Clear communicator who builds positive relationships across trading floors technology teams and external partners; able to influence outcomes in fast-moving situations.
