Operations Quality has an opening for a Factory Quality Engineer who will interface with the factory teams supporting production first article inspections creating/maintaining work/inspection instructions and preparation for audits.

The position is based in Tucson AZ and requires onsite presence.

NOTE - A 2nd shift differential of 8% will be paid for the 2nd shift schedule of 12:30pm to 10:00pm.

What You Will Do:

• Verify product and process compliance with respect to contractual technical industry AS9100 Quality Management System (QMS) requirements and internal policies
• Regularly generate and publish Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) metrics
• Facilitate and lead cross-functional team in failure analysis Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations including identifying non-conformances providing solutions tracking issues to closure and leading Corrective Action Boards (CAB)
• Ensure identification physical control and disposition of non-conforming material and facilitate Material Review Board (MRB) when necessary
• Support work instruction development and maintenance activities by reviewing work instructions test instructions auditing processes and assuring configuration management
• Development and maintenance of inspection instructions ensuring inspection instructions meet the technical data package requirements and meet production needs
• Regularly interface with Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA)
• Daily status meetings with the factory support factory management hourly employees and internal stakeholders to manage issue
• Conduct weekly meetings to help reduce cost of poor quality and facilitate timely red rack dispositions

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Bachelors degree in Science Technology Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
• Minimum of eight (8) years of experience inrelated Quality Operations Engineering or related discipline
• Experience in supporting design and/or manufacturing process
• Manufacturing process experience in one of the following (assembly inspection test)
• Experience with engineering principles and design analysis techniques
• The ability to obtain and maintain an US security clearance prior to the start date (U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance)
• The ability to obtain and maintain an ATF (Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco Firearms and Explosives) clearance prior to the start date

Qualifications We Value:

• Existing DoD Secret Clearance
• Experience with ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 Quality Management System
• Experience with AS9102 First Article Inspection Requirements
• Demonstrate ability to understand engineering drawings work instructions Bill of Materials (BOMs) consumable materials control process disciplines and tool control
• Strong interpersonal skills with experience in negotiating having difficult conversations and ability to work well with factory management hourly employees and internal stakeholders
• Experience in leading cross-functional teams in auditing process and product/process improvements in the factory or at suppliers
• Experience with AS9145 - Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP)
• Six Sigma or ASQ Certification
• Data analysis; development and usage of actionable metric

Clearance Information:

This position requires a security clearance. DCSA Consolidated Adjudication Services (DCSA CAS) an agency of the Department of Defense handles and adjudicates the security clearance process. The salary range for this role is 107500 USD - 204500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer including but not limited to the role function and associated responsibilities a candidates work experience location education/training and key skills.
