The Boeing Company is looking for Electrical Engineers (MP&P) in Berkeley MO.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Apply engineering knowledge of electrical electronic and electro-mechanical components in evaluation of components for assembly and subassembly repair/design.
  • Directly support subcontractors and suppliers to ensure their electronic components are qualified for Boeing usage by the contract.
  • Work in a harsh / high reliability design environment including previous aerospace medical device automotive or industrial design/application experience.
  • Knowledge of connectors wires and cables including the fabrication of cables/bundles installation of cables/harnesses etc.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret clearance post-start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Level 1
    • Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in Engineering Engineering technology (including manufacturing engineering technology) computer science engineering data science mathematics physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent the USA ABET accreditation is the preferred although not required accreditation standard.
    • Experience or coursework that has given the candidate a familiarity with basic electronic components (resistors capacitors diodes inductors transformers connectors integrated circuits etc.).
    • Strong evidence of ability to work as part of a team and familiarity with the idea of working within a hierarchal organization as demonstrated by class projects or previous experience.
    • Strong writing and communication skills in addition to a focus on attention to detail.
    • Understanding of the concept of requirements and requirements documentation.
    • Understanding the concept of qualifying parts evaluating parts
    • Preference for an additional 1-2 of the Nice to Have competencies below although not necessarily a hard requirement.
  • Level 2
    • Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in Engineering Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Engineering Technology) Computer Science Engineering Data Science Mathematics Physics or Chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent the USA ABET accreditation is the preferred although not required accreditation standard.
    • A deeper familiarity and experience with some form of requirements documentation or military/industrial standards documents (such as customer requirements military specifications industry specifications government regulations etc.).
    • Past work experience with connectors wires and cable (i.e. electrical interconnect) wiring harnesses.
    • Familiarity with industry specifications (SAE IEEE component datasheets).
    • Candidates are expected to demonstrate at least a basic competence in 2-3 of the Nice to Have areas which these carrying more weight than for Grade 1 candidates.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Specific experience with any sort of heightened requirement or harsh environment application space including industrial medical automotive and aerospace and military. (Relative importance: Industrial is worth 1 point medical and automotive scored at 1.5X weight and aerospace/military specific experience would score at 2X weight).
  • Specific experience with fiber optic interconnect or systems.
  • Experience writing requirements or defining parameters of electrical systems/parts (like qualifying parts).
  • Component evaluation/design/qualification experience with industry/military standards (SAE Mil-specs ASTMs IEEE) any manufacturing experience particularly EWIS.
  • Experience with SSOWs or ensuring deliverables for customers.
  • Specific experience with any type of electrical component fabrication (a class or two that deep dives into these subjects would count but not for the full point unless candidate claims this as an area of specific focus in their area of study).
  • Specific experience with writing and reviewing requirements.
  • Experience with component level design and part selection including both from scratch designs and searching for alternate part substitutions within an established system/circuit.
  • Experience with testing and troubleshooting electrical systems and parts (bonus point for knowledge of environmental testing and environmental requirements).
  • Some experience with military electronics. Not necessarily aerospace as long as its directly related to one of our electrical disciplines (i.e. components wire/cables processes etc.
  • Experience incorporating Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) LEAN and Quality principles into (1) materials and processes (2) research and qualification (3) work procedures and (4) lab testing and qualification

Relocation:

  • Relocation is a negotiable benefit for eligible candidates.

  • Entry (P1): $73950 - $100050
  • Associate (P2): $91800 - $124200
