Job Summary

Location: Brooklyn NY 11206
Position Type: Local or Travel Contract
Schedule & Shift Details
Schedule: 3 days per week
Shift Length: 11.5-hour shifts
Shift Timing: 8:30 AM 8:00 PM
Total Hours: 34.5 hours per week
Weekend Requirement: Alternating weekends
On-Call: Not required
Compensation
Travel Rate: $80/hour
Local Rate: $67/hour
Job Summary
A healthcare facility in Brooklyn New York is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse Post Partum / Mother Baby to deliver high-quality family-centered nursing care to postpartum mothers and newborns. This role emphasizes clinical excellence patient education and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams while ensuring adherence to established clinical standards and safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive nursing care to postpartum mothers and newborns
Monitor maternal and newborn status and respond promptly to clinical changes
Administer medications treatments and IV therapies as ordered
Perform IV insertions and phlebotomy procedures
Assist with conscious sedation monitoring when required
Promote maternal-infant bonding and provide breastfeeding education and support
Educate patients and families on postpartum recovery and newborn care
Accurately document assessments interventions and patient outcomes
Collaborate with physicians midwives and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
Ensure compliance with hospital policies patient safety standards and regulatory requirements
Required Skills & Experience
Minimum 2 years of Maternal & Child Health nursing experience
Minimum 2 years of IV insertion and phlebotomy experience
Minimum 2 years of conscious sedation experience
Education Requirements
Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN/ASN) from an accredited nursing program
Certifications & Licensure
Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) License
Primary Source Verification from NYS Department of Education (NYSED)
AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
