Role Purpose
- The HSE Engineer will be responsible for ensuring compliance with health safety and environmental standards during wind turbine generator (WTG) installation and associated civil works. This role requires proactive risk management coordination with project stakeholders and implementation of best practices to safeguard personnel equipment and the environment.
Key Responsibilities
- HSE Planning C Compliance
- Develop implement and monitor project-specific HSE plans procedures and risk assessments.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations international standards (ISO 45001 ISO 14001) and client requirements.
- Site Safety Management
- Conduct daily site inspections toolbox talks and safety audits.
- Monitor lifting operations heavy equipment usage and work-at-height activities during WTG erection.
- Oversee civil works safety (excavation concrete pouring road construction foundations).
- Incident C Risk Management
- Lead incident investigations root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action implementation.
- Maintain records of near-misses accidents and environmental incidents.
- Training C Awareness
- Deliver HSE inductions and training sessions for site personnel.
- Promote a strong safety culture through awareness campaigns and continuous engagement.
- Stakeholder Coordination
- Liaise with contractors subcontractors and client representatives to ensure alignment on HSE requirements.
- Report regularly on HSE performance KPIs and compliance status.
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelors degree in engineering Environmental Science or Occupational Health C Safety.
- NEBOSH IGC or equivalent HSE certification (mandatory).
- Minimum 510 years of HSE experience in construction heavy civil works or renewable energy projects.
- Strong knowledge of WTG installation hazards (lifting electrical mechanical work-at- height).
- Familiarity with environmental management practices and sustainability requirements.
- Excellent communication skills in English (Arabic is an advantage).
