About the Opportunity
On behalf of our international client we are hiring a Cloud Storage Expert to support expanding their global presence and investing in scalable future-ready
infrastructure. Our client is a fast-growing AI and cloud platform company focused on delivering cutting-edge technologies and a subsidiary of one of Vietnams largest tech corporations.
Joining the team as a Cloud Storage Expert you will design deploy and optimize Ceph storage systems managing petabytes of data. Youll not only tune and scale internal storage services but also customize and extend Cephs source code to meet unique performance reliability and feature requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and operate Ceph clusters at >1 PB scale.
- Perform capacity planning performance tuning and resource optimization.
- Diagnose and resolve deep-seated storage issueslatency reliability data integrity.
- Customize Ceph source to add features optimize storage internals or integrate with proprietary systems.
- Contribute patches and enhancements upstream; manage forks for internal deployments.
- Implement monitoring alerting and metrics collection.
- Define backup / disaster recovery strategies run regular upgrades and ensure rolling non-disruptive maintenance.
- Collaborate with platform and infra teams to integrate storage APIs and SDKs into higher-level services.
- Mentor other engineers on distributed storage concepts and best practices.
Requirements
Technical skills:
- 5-10 years managing large-scale Ceph or distributed storage clusters at petabyte scale.
- Deep expertise in Ceph internals and coding for custom modules and automation.
- Strong Linux system skills: kernel tuning networking file systems resource isolation.
- Experience with storage automation tools (Ansible Terraform) and containerized deployments.
- Hands-on familiarity with monitoring stacks and logging frameworks.
- Proven track record of contributing to open-source storage projects or internal forks.
- Solid understanding of data durability consistency models and disaster recovery.
- Bachelors or higher in Computer Science Engineering or related field.
- Ceph certifications (e.g. Red Hat Certified Specialist in Ceph Storage) are a plus.
Soft skills:
- Strong collaboration problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Fluent in English.
