IT Director, M365

The Director of Microsoft 365 Collaboration & Productivityis responsible forthestrategy delivery governance and operationsof the organizations Microsoft 365 collaboration and productivity services. This role owns thedayto day and strategic management of the Microsoft 365 tenant workloads related to messaging collaboration content and productivityexcluding identity security platforms compliance tooling and endpoint management.

The Director ensures Microsoft 365 services are reliable scalable userfocused and aligned with businessobjectives while partnering closely with Identity Security Compliance and Endpoint teams thatretain focused and aligned with business objectives while partnering closely with Identity Security Compliance and Endpoint teams that retain ownership of their respective platforms.

This role owns strategy and operations for:

• Microsoft 365 service configurationandFeature enhancementsfor both Commercial and Government tenants
• Exchange Online(email calendaring mail flow operations)
• Microsoft Teams(chat meetings collaboration voice if applicable)
• SharePoint Online(sites content services information architecture)
• OneDrive for Business(usersbackups Geo restrictions and Geo data storage)
• Microsoft 365 Apps(desktop and web productivity applications)
• Power Platform tenant governance(Power Apps Power Automate Power BI non-security aspects)
• Copilot adoption and governance(adoption andEvangelizing usage)

Key Responsibilities

Microsoft 365 Strategy & Roadmap

• Define and execute theMicrosoft 365 collaboration and productivity roadmapaligned with business priorities.
• Drive adoption of modern collaboration patterns and productivity best practices.
• Evaluate new Microsoft 365 features and services for business value and usability.

Platform Ownership & Operations

• Own theoperational health availability and performanceof collaboration workloads.
• Lead configuration lifecycle management and service optimization for:
• Exchange Online
• Teams
• SharePoint Online
• OneDrive
• Overseetenantlevel configuration related to usability sharing models and collaboration standards (in alignment with Security and Identity teams).

Governance & User Experience

• Establish governance models for:
• Teamscreation and lifecycle
• SharePoint site provisioning and ownership
• Content organization and collaboration standards
• Balance governance with ease of use and productivity.
• Champion user experience improvements and simplification of collaboration tools.

Adoption Change & Enablement

• Lead Microsoft 365 adoption initiatives and change management efforts.
• Partner with Communications HR and Business Units to drive usage and value.
• Ensureenduser training materials guidance andself user training materials guidance and self service resources are available and current.

CrossFunctional Collaboration

• Partner closely with:
• Identity teamsfor authentication and access dependencies
• Security and Compliance teamsfor policy alignment and platform integrations
• Endpoint/Intune teamsfor client and device alignment
• Serve as the primary escalation point for Microsoft 365 collaboration platform issues.

Leadership & Vendor Management

• Lead Microsoft 365 engineering administration and support teams.
• Manage Microsoft support engagements andthirdparty vendors related to collaboration services.
• Provideexecutivelevel reporting on service health adoption and roadmap progress.

Financial & License Management

• Own Microsoft 365 collaboration licensing strategy and cost optimization.
• Forecast demand and manage budgets related to productivity services.
• Drive license efficiency and usage transparency.

Required Qualifications

• 10 or more years of IT experience with5 or more years leading enterprise Microsoft 365 environments
• Experience working with GCC high and knowledge of federal regulations

• Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.

Preferred Qualifications

• Microsoft 365 or Collaborationfocused certifications
• Experience supporting hybrid or remote workforces
• Experience with tenant consolidation or largescale M365 migrations
• Familiarity with enterprise IT service management (ITSM) practices
