Job Summary: | The Division of Cardiology at the University of Colorado on has an immediate opening for an Advanced Imaging Section Head. A qualified mid-career non-invasive cardiologist with subspecialty training in advanced cardiac imaging will function as the section lead overseeing Cardiac Imaging including echocardiography CT MRI and nuclear cardiology services. This is an academic position on the Anschutz Medical Campus which is the only academic medical center in the State of Colorado. The candidate will provide leadership in clinical research and teaching domains to further advance the cardiac multi-modality imaging program. This position will report to the Chief of Cardiology. The candidate should be board-certified in cardiovascular medicine by the ABIM and should be fully capable of performing TEE stress echo 3D echo procedural image guidance and other advanced echo procedures. In addition to clinical service there is both opportunity and expectation for academic work including education investigation/research and administration as well as advocacy. There will be protected time for these efforts with awell-established support structure breadth and depth in mentoring available within the Division and expected benchmarks. Key Responsibilities: Creation and maintenance of the Cardiac Advanced Imaging schedule utilizing the QGenda scheduling platform across multiple sites including Anschutz Medical Campus Cherry Creek Medical Center Lone Tree Medical Center and Highlands Ranch Hospital. In this clinically-focused leadership position the candidate will provide leadership and oversight for the multimodality cardiac imaging group (echocardiography nuclear CT and MRI) and will work collaboratively with our partners in the Department of Radiology. Sub-directors of CT MRI nuclear and satellite cardiac imaging will report to this position and this position will report to the Division Head of Cardiology. Currently the Division has about 45 cardiologists and over half of them read echo 6 of them read nuclear 4 of them read CT and 3 of them read MRI. We anticipate this position to be approximately 60% clinical and 40% administrative/teaching/research flexible depending on the candidate The person in this role with be tasked with expanding our research portfolio/group within cardiac imaging and mentoring fellows and junior faculty within this area. There will be protected time for these efforts with well-established support structure breadth and depth in mentoring available within the Division and expected benchmarks. Equipment: o CMRs mostly Sola at UCH SKYRA. o CTs Forcex2 flash at CCMC coming 7500 Spectral Philips o PET currently GE; coming 64slice Vision with fast gantry. o Echo Philips and GE 50:50 Work closely with hospital staff and administration to ensure the quality and timeliness of the services provided as well as providing leadership to the faculty and fellows involved in study interpretation Be committed to the educational mission of the division and will be involved in the training and education of house officers fellows and medical students | |

Anticipated Pay Range: | The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE: Associate Professor $400000 - $480000 (50%-75% AAMC) Professor: $480000- $55000-(65%-80% AAMC) The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the Universitys good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
