Position Details:

As part of the ADHD and Behavior Disorder Center Summer Program team you will report to the Director Summer Program . The Summer Program is a four-week immersive summer therapy camp serving children with Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) Oppositional-Defiant Disorder and related learning social and behavioral challenges. You will receive training in empirically supported behavior management techniques to assist children in developing positive and pro-social behaviors. Children spend 60 minutes daily in learning centers led by teachers while the remainder of the day consists of recreationally based group activities.

This is a non-exempt on-site position at the Allen-Stevenson School and the Child Mind Institutes NYC headquarters.

You Will:

  • Teach multiple learning center blocks each day rotating through reading writing and math activities with built-in snack and movement breaks.
  • Manage the learning needs of at least 3 classrooms consisting of 9-11 age-matched children with a range of learning social and behavioral needs.
  • Prepare lesson plans and collaborate with fellow program teachers to develop activities focused on teamwork partner work and presentation skills.
  • Implement special education strategies to support children with learning tasks.
  • Participate in structured assessments to ensure program effectiveness.
  • Prepare a brief report card summarizing each childs growth and ongoing learning needs at the programs conclusion.
  • Support counselors throughout the day under the supervision of lead staff.
  • Review treatment and school records to optimize treatment gains.

Teachers must be available for all required training preparation sessions and for the full duration of the program. Please review all the dates below.

  • Tuesday June 23rd
  • Wednesday June 24th
  • Thursday June 25th
  • Friday June 26th
  • Monday June 29th
  • Tuesday June 30th
  • Wednesday July 1st
  • Thursday July 2nd

Program:

  • Mondays Thursdays weekly
  • July 6th through July 31st 2026
  • 8am 4pm EST daily

You Have:

  • Certified teacher in the State of New York with three or more years of experience.
  • Minimum of one year of experience teaching elementary-age students; special education experience.
  • Minimum of one year of experience leading groups in summer camps after-school programs daycare or educational settings.

Pay Range

The salary range for the position is posted. Factors such as candidates work experience education/training job-related skills internal peer equity as well as market and business considerations affect the salary offered within this range.
